non-surgical cosmetic procedures. This qualification supports safe and ethical practice,
ensuring practitioners can respond confidently and effectively to adverse events within their professional scope. The course is a blend of home study theory and practicals, with all
hands-on training taking place at our Hale Barns Academy in Cheshire.
Learners will develop a deep understanding of risk assessment, client safety, and clinical
governance in aesthetic practice. The course covers the identification and management of
both immediate and delayed complications related to injectables and other aesthetic
treatments. Emphasis is placed on evidence-based protocols, emergency response, infection control, and professional accountability. Learners will also be encouraged to reflect critically on their own practice to support continuous improvement and professional development. This qualification is ideal for qualified aesthetic practitioners, nurses, medics, and advanced beauty therapists who are already performing non-surgical aesthetic procedures and wish to enhance their competence in clinical safety and complication management. On completion, practitioners will be able to demonstrate best practice in client care, strengthen their clinical decision-making, and ensure the highest standards of safety and professionalism within
aesthetic settings.

CO602 Complication Management for Aesthetic Practice
PROGRESSION PATHWAYS
QUALIFI Level 6 Award in Complication Management for Aesthetic Practice will support
learners in their associated profession.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFI Level 6 Certificate or Diploma in Aesthetic Practice or equivalent Or
CO601/AP601 Anatomy, Physiology and Morphology of the Aging Face and Body , CO602 Complication Management for Aesthetic Practice unit credits qualification
and
Current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) and anaphylaxis management qualification and
Level 5 award in Needlestick Injury, Infection Prevention and Control qualification.
In addition, all learners must prove they hold a relevant English language qualification if English is not their first language.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
Learners will develop the ability to identify, assess, and manage complications associated with non-surgical cosmetic procedures in accordance with professional and regulatory standards. They will be able to implement appropriate management and escalation procedures to ensure client safety and maintain high clinical standards. The unit also requires learners to carry out post-procedure evaluations to assess treatment effectiveness and client satisfaction. Through reflective practice, learners will critically appraise their own performance, supporting continuous professional development and quality improvement in aesthetic practice.
