A patch test appointment is a short but essential consultation performed prior to certain laser and aesthetic treatments, such as IPL, laser tattoo removal, or chemical peels. The purpose of the patch test is to assess your skin’s reaction to the specific treatment and ensure it is safe to proceed. During the patch test, a small area of your skin will be treated with the intended laser or product. You will then be monitored for any adverse reactions, such as irritation, redness, or sensitivity, over the following 24 to 48 hours. Why It’s Important: To confirm your skin’s suitability and safety for the planned treatment To minimise the risk of adverse effects or allergic reactions To allow your practitioner to tailor the treatment to your individual skin needs What to Expect: The appointment typically lasts 10–15 minutes A small test area, usually on the forearm or face, will be treated You will receive detailed aftercare instructions and be advised when to book your main treatment appointment Very Important: You must not book your patch test sooner than 2 weeks before your scheduled treatment appointment. Failure to complete a patch test appointment will result in cancellation of your treatment appointment and may affect your eligibility for a refund. Please ensure your availability the week of your treatment to attend this mandatory patch test.
