COURSE OVERVIEW

The Qualifi Level 6 Award in Complication Management for Aesthetic Practice is a specialist qualification designed to equip aesthetic practitioners with the advanced knowledge and clinical skills required to recognise, manage, and prevent complications arising from non-surgical cosmetic procedures. This qualification supports safe and ethical practice, ensuring practitioners can respond confidently and effectively to adverse events within their professional scope. The course is a blend of home study theory and practicals, with all hands-on training taking place at our Hale Barns Academy in Cheshire. Learners will develop a deep understanding of risk assessment, client safety, and clinical governance in aesthetic practice. The course covers the identification and management of both immediate and delayed complications related to injectables and other aesthetic treatments. Emphasis is placed on evidence-based protocols, emergency response, infection control, and professional accountability. Learners will also be encouraged to reflect critically on their own practice to support continuous improvement and professional development. This qualification is ideal for qualified aesthetic practitioners, nurses, medics, and advanced beauty therapists who are already performing non-surgical aesthetic procedures and wish to enhance their competence in clinical safety and complication management. On completion, practitioners will be able to demonstrate best practice in client care, strengthen their clinical decision-making, and ensure the highest standards of safety and professionalism within aesthetic settings. To achieve this qualification, a learner must successfully complete the mandatory unit – 4 credits: CO602 Complication Management for Aesthetic Practice
