QUALIFICATION

The QUALIFI Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement is made up of 15 credits
which equates to 150 hours of TQT (Total Qualification Time)

COURSE DURATION

Course may take up to 3-6 months.

ASSESSMENT METHOD

● Short answer questions (SAQ)
● Oral questions
● Practical Observations (Approx 1 Day)

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

This qualification is designed for learners aged 19 and above. There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements for this qualification. However, learners may find it helpful if they have already achieved a Level 2 qualification. 

The qualification has been designed to be accessible without artificial barriers that restrict access and progression. Entry to the qualification will be through a centre interview and learners will be assessed on an individual basis. In addition, all learners must prove they hold a relevant English language qualification if English is not their first language.

AWARDING BODY:
QUALIFI is recognised and regulated by Ofqual (Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulator). The Ofqual reference number is RN5160. Ofqual regulates qualifications, examinations, and assessments in England.

ABOUT THIS COURSE

The course is a blend of home study theory and practicals, with all hands-on training taking place at our Hale Barns Academy in Cheshire. Throughout the course, learners will develop a comprehensive understanding of the principles and practices of assessment, including the legal, ethical, and quality assurance frameworks that underpin the role of an assessor. They will gain the practical skills to plan, conduct, and record assessments of occupational competence in real working environments, ensuring all assessments are fair, valid, and reliable.


In addition, learners will learn how to assess vocational skills, knowledge, and understanding in both practical and theoretical contexts, using a variety of assessment methods and providing constructive feedback to support learner progress. This qualification provides a strong foundation for anyone involved in training, coaching, or workplace learning, and is recognised as the standard qualification for those who wish to work as a qualified assessor across a wide range of industries. On completion, learners will be fully equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to perform the assessor role effectively and professionally.

To achieve this qualification a learner must successfully complete the three mandatory units – 15 credits:

Unit 1: Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment

Unit 2: Assessing Occupational Competence in the Work Environment

Unit 3: Assessing Vocational Skills, Knowledge and Understanding

PROGRESSION PATHWAYS

Learners completing the QUALIFI Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement can progress to:

  • Qualifi Level 4 Internal Quality Insurance qualification

  • Directly into employment in an associated profession.
