Laser Hair Removal and IPL Aftercare

Laser and IPL treatments target the hair follicle using controlled light energy. Following treatment, the skin may feel warm or sensitive as the follicle responds to the energy delivered. Correct aftercare supports skin recovery and protects results.

Day 0 to Day 2: Immediate Aftercare

  1. Expect warmth or mild redness Redness, warmth or slight swelling around hair follicles is normal and usually settles within 24 to 48 hours.

  2. Avoid heat and sweating Avoid the gym, saunas, steam rooms, hot baths and vigorous exercise for at least 48 hours.

  3. Do not touch or irritate the area Avoid rubbing, scratching or exfoliating the treated skin.

  4. Soothe the skin Apply a soothing, fragrance free moisturiser or aloe based product if advised.

Day 3 to Day 7: Skin Care

  1. No exfoliation Avoid exfoliating products, scrubs or active skincare for at least 5 to 7 days.

  2. Avoid sun exposure Do not sunbathe or use sunbeds. Apply broad spectrum SPF daily to exposed areas.

  3. Hair shedding is normal Treated hairs will begin to shed naturally over the following 1 to 3 weeks. Do not wax, pluck or thread between sessions.

Ongoing Care

  1. Shaving only between sessions Shaving is the only approved method of hair removal between treatments.

  2. Follow your treatment schedule Regular sessions are required for optimal hair reduction.
