Lip filler uses hyaluronic acid to enhance shape, balance and hydration while maintaining natural movement. The lips are highly vascular, so swelling and tenderness are common in the early healing phase. Careful aftercare supports smooth settling and optimal results.
Day 0 to Day 2: Immediate Aftercare
Expect swelling and tenderness Swelling, firmness and sensitivity are normal and may be more noticeable during the first 48 hours.
Avoid touching or massaging the lips Do not press, rub or manipulate the lips unless specifically advised by your practitioner.
No makeup on the lips for 24 hours Avoid lipstick, gloss or lip liner to reduce irritation and infection risk.
Avoid heat and exercise Do not attend the gym, sauna, steam room or take hot baths for 48 hours.
Hydration Drink plenty of water to support hydration and help the filler integrate.
Day 3 to Day 7: Settling Phase
Bruising management Bruising may occur and usually resolves within a few days. Makeup can be applied once the skin has healed.
Avoid alcohol and smoking Alcohol and smoking can increase swelling and delay healing. Avoid for at least 48 hours.
No dental work or facial treatments Avoid dental appointments, facials or other aesthetic treatments for 2 weeks.
Ongoing Care
Allow time for final results Lips may feel firm initially and soften as swelling subsides over 1 to 2 weeks.
Follow up if advised A review may be offered to assess results once swelling has fully settled.
